In the United Kingdom, the tax year begins on April 6 and ends on April 5 of the following year. You can claim overpaid taxes for the previous five years. This means that in the 2025/2026 tax year, you can submit tax returns for 2021/2022, 2022/2023, 2023/2024, 2024/2025 and 2025/2026. It is important to note that if the declaration is not submitted on time, you may lose the opportunity to recover overpaid amounts for older periods. We accept documents for the 2021/2022 tax year until March 1, 2026, so we recommend submitting them as soon as possible to ensure timely processing.
