What types of taxes are in Denmark?
Denmark has a progressive income tax system. This means that the more you earn - the more tax you may have to pay. Denmark income taxes to the state are one of the highest in the world.
- You must pay 8% Labor Market Contribution (AM-bidrag), which is deducted before deducting any other taxes;
- State tax (Bundskat), which is divided to: bottom-bracket tax 6.83% and top-bracket tax 15% (2014 year);
- Health contribution (Sundhedsbidrag) 5% (2014 year);
- Municipal tax (Kommuneskat) percentage depends in which municipality you live, average is 24%.
When does the Tax year start and end in Denmark?
Tax year in Denmark starts on 1st of January and ends on 31st of December.
How long will it take to get a refund?
The tax refund procedure in Denmark starts after the end of financial year, January 1st.
The refund procedure on average takes six months after we receive all the information and documents from you. However, in some cases it may take longer.
How much will it cost?
We do not have any upfront or hidden fees! This means that it does not cost to apply for tax refund and the service fee is charged only when the refund is received.
We charge 14 % from the refundable amount, but not less than minimum charge of 590 DKK.
How will I receive my tax refund?
The Denmark Tax Authorities issue tax refund to RT Tax. We deduct our service fees and transfer the refund to your bank account in any country.
